United Way NSV Seeks Non-Profit Information in new 2019 Community Service Directory

United Way of Northern Shenandoah Valley’s Valley Assistance Network is now accepting submissions from the non-profit community and area human service organizations on program information. These submissions will be included in new edition of their Community Service Directory.

The directory is a comprehensive guide to area non-profits and services, with 10,000 copies being distributed throughout the Northern Shenandoah Valley Region and published online at United Way NSV’s website. The directory, which has been offered by United Way NSV since 1996, is made available at no cost to area businesses, schools, medical offices and the community at large. Information on non-profits and support services in Winchester City, Frederick, Clarke, Shenandoah and Page Counties is being sought. Information being collected includes basic contact information, programs offered at each organization, hours and availability, and information on eligibility for assistance.

The current 200-page directory contains information on over 150 non-profits community-wide, covering Winchester City, Frederick, Clarke, and Shenandoah Counties. Also included is a resource section with a listing of nonprofits by type of service offered. More than 150 programs—involving shelters, literacy programs, food pantries, family-based services and more are featured in the directory.

Several changes for the 2019 Directory are anticipated, with the largest change to be the inclusion of Page County to the directory. The 2019 Directory will also seek to include information on area church offerings like community meals or food pantries, for the first time. Information will also be separated by county and/or religious organization for easy navigation

United Way NSV encourages members of the non-profit community or other community service organizations to submit information for inclusion in the new version of the directory. To submit information, please visit: https://www.unitedwaynsv.org/community-service-directory-updates.
