United Way Pacesetters kickoff 2017 Campaign

Support is coming in from businesses all over the area who have been fundraising for United Way. One longtime supporter, BB&T, kicked off their workplace campaign last week, sharing the United Way story and the impact of giving locally with their employees. BB&T is celebrating their workplace campaign by giving away prizes, organizing blue jean Fridays and challenging employees to raise money in a coin war!
Other businesses like United Bank, have been fundraising through special events in addition to their workplace campaigns. Team leaders at United Bank have been offering a giving contest where employees can drop coins in employee's buckets. The person's bucket with the most money has to kiss a pig, making fundraising truly fun! We can't wait to see what the outcome is!
Many area employers offer the option to make a gift to United Way through payroll deduction, making it easier to give more over a continued amount of time. More than 30 area businesses have already kicked off their campaigns, accounting for about 1/3 of the overall total funds raised for United Way for the year.
