One Little Black Dress Initiative

I am participating in the United Way of the Shenandoah Valley's One Black Dress Initiative. For 5 days in November I will wear the same black dress. By doing this I hope to bring awareness to those within the community who are struggling to makes ends meet. All proceeds raised will go to the Asset Limited Income Constrained and Employed (ALICE) initiative to help those in need.

Through this campaign I hope to raise awareness for those ALICE within our community. Those who need help to get an outfit for an interview, put food on the table or just have the means to get by. Many people are not looking for a hand out but just a helping hand that can make a difference in success and changing the cycle of poverty.
