Kelsea's One Black Dress

Through the week of November 13-17, I will be wearing the same black dress every day to raise awareness of those who are attempting to push past poverty and gain financial stability. Imagine trying to get a great job, but not having enough money to afford an interview-appropriate outfit, or struggling to find ways to stretch only a few work outfits out through a week. Imagine being one emergency away from financial crisis and not knowing where to turn for help. This is the reality for many more people than we realize, and I hope you will help me in helping others break through financial barriers. The funds raised support ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed). These dollars help our struggling neighbors who may only have one dress, or just one suit, who are doing everything they can to become financially stable, but are having to make tough choices to try and get ahead or to try and get that first professional job. Join me and United Way by shining a light on ALICE and helping to bring people from crisis to financial stability to self-sufficiency. United We Fight. United We Win.

I am hoping to raise $324, which is the Household Survival Food Budget for a married couple in Frederick County, VA- where my husband and I reside (According to the Virginia ALICE Report).
