Community Meals & Food Banks
Mt. Carmel Church & Page One - (540) 652-4357 (Page One) -  URGENT - Collecting food items needed by Page One. The church is assisting Page One with food deliveries to shut-ins and high risk citizens. There is a silver trailer in the church parking lot for donations which will be delivered to Page One weekly.
 
Page  One Food Bank, Luray VA, (540) 652-4357, vapageone.org; The Page One office is closed and no one is allowed inside the building. The Food Pantry is providing boxed meals only. No paperwork or signatures are currently required for food pantry services. Consumers are to call the food pantry ahead of time and the food will be handed to them outside of the Page One building. Page One is also participating in outreach for the elderly by delivering food and assisting in medication checkups. Consumers are to call the Luray food bank location for food pantry services.
 
SNAP Benefits, Page County Department of Social Services - (540-)  778-1053, Changes to the food stamp program that were to be implemented April 1, 2020 have been postponed until further notice. 
 
WIC, Page County Health Department - 540-743-6528; 75 Court Ln, Luray, VA, Health department is still open.
 
Salvation Army of Front Royal, VA (Serves Page Co.) - 540-635-4020, 357 Cloud Street, Front Royal, VA; Food Bank is open and offers clothing and food. Office is still open, however, if someone is showing symptoms or is sick, they are not allowed in the building. They will be handed food or clothes outside the building.
 
Shelter & Housing Information
Centralized Housing Intake (CHI) – (540) 271-1701; CHI provides temporary financial assistance to individuals who are homeless so they can obtain rental housing. CHI is operating under normal business hours. However they are currently not accepting walk-ins. All intakes are done by phone. Homeless certification for those without access to a computer or internet are done by drop-box located at the CHI offices: 305 N. High Street Harrisonburg, VA 22802. There are currently no funds for the Homelessness Preventions Program.
 
Mercy House, Harrisonburg, VA - (540)-432-1812; They will continue to provide services to families. All eligibility screenings will be conducted over the phone. (Their main office is closed.)
 
Shenandoah Alliance for Shelter, Woodstock, VA - (540) 459-4599; SAS is limiting face-to-face meetings. All case management is done through phones and email. They are still taking new consumers through CHI and they are asking consumers to call with any needs they may have.
 
Page One Luray, VA - (540) 743-4863; Can provide temporary lodging for those most in-need.
 
CHOICES (Domestic Violence Shelter) Luray, VA - (540) 743-4414; Shelter is still open with staff on premises. If someone calls when staff is unavailable the caller will be forwarded to a nationwide emergency line.

As of 3/24/20 they have male and female beds. Not taking anyone who has been in contact with someone who has been sick, or if they themselves have symptoms of the virus.

Libraries, theaters, museums, caverns, cultural centers, and non-essential businesses are currently closed for public safety. Restaurants and bars are closed, however there are restaurants that are offering take-out or delivery options. Many Page County events have been cancelled or postponed to a later date.
