United Way Liability Waiver
I agree to the 2021/2022 Volunteer Release and Waiver of Liability - This release and waiver of liability (the “release”) executed by the volunteer in favor of United Way of Shenandoah Valley, a non profit corporation, its officers, directors, employees, agents, participating agencies and non-member partner organizations (collectively, “United Way”). All volunteers desire to work as volunteers for United Way and engage in activities related to being a volunteer. Volunteers understand that that activities may include, but are not limited to manual labor, work with power tools and machinery, outdoor maintenance work, landscaping, and cleaning. The volunteers do hereby freely, voluntarily and without duress execute this release under the following terms: Waiver and Release. Volunteers hereby release and forever discharge and hold harmless United Way, its successors and assigns, from any and all liability, claims and demands of whatever kind of nature, either in law or in equity, which arise or may hereafter arise from volunteer work for United Way. Volunteers understand that this release discharges United Way and its participating agencies and non-member partner organizations from any liability or claim that the volunteer may have against United Way with respect to any bodily injury, illness, death or property damage that may result from volunteer work with United Way. Volunteers also understand that United Way does not assume any responsibility for or obligation to provide financial assistance or other assistance, including but not limited to medical, health or disability insurance in the event of injury or illness. Photo Release. Volunteers hereby authorize the United Way the use of photographs for United Way publications. Volunteers acknowledge that the use of photos is voluntary and that no financial compensation or ownership rights are expected. Each volunteer is expected and encouraged to obtain his or her own medical or health insurance coverage. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, volunteer has executed the release as of the day and year first above written.
