United Way Serves More than 100 Families at Photos with Santa

United Way of Northern Shenandoah Valley hosted photos with Santa on Saturday, December 1st from 9:00-1:00pm at The George Washington Hotel. Due to the event’s growing popularity, this was the first time United Way’s Photos with Santa Event was held at The George Washington Hotel in Winchester. 168 children from 100 families attended the event.

Professional digital pictures were offered for FREE, courtesy of Stephanie Leigh Photography and Design. Trex Company, The Frederick County/Winchester Law Enforcement Foundation, and United Bank also be partnered with United Way to make the event possible.

Santa was played by Frederick County Sheriff, Lenny Millholland, as well as Winchester City Police Captain, Leonard Bauserman.

Also for the first time this year, United Way was a recipient of the Toys for Tots program, so that every child that attended was offered a toy. One anonymous family remarked that “the toy was a huge blessing” and that “they plan to wrap it up again for Christmas morning”.

“The magic of the season is evident in the faces of each child.” Said Nadine Pottinga, CEO of the United Way of Northern Shenandoah Valley. “Living United means giving every child the opportunity to meet Santa and receive a gift.”
