Do you belong to a group or a business that wants to make a difference in the Northern Shenandoah Valley?
Register to lead a team on Day of Caring! United Way now invites all of our community partners to register! All you have to do is submit your information below to get started. Once we get your submission, we will add your team to the volunteer sign-up page so you can start building your team! The dates for Day of Caring are September 12th for the north and September 13th for the south!
Not sure if your group already has already registered a team?
Check our volunteer sign-up page to see if your group is already listed as an option in the drop-down menu. Do you have questions about signing up or does your group have specific needs or need special assistance? Just email us at United Way!
Are you a Corporate Partner?
Due to the overwhelming popularity and interest we have had in Day of Caring and the limited number of projects we are able to support for the day, we are prioritizing Day of Caring participation to our current corporate partners. Our corporate partners include, companies who run an employee campaign, provide a corporate gift to the annual campaign or provide a sponsorship to one of our events. If you are unsure if you are a United Way corporate partner, please contact Elise Stine-Dolinar or reach her by phone at (540) 536-1613.
We will place all those interested in a Day of Caring team who are not a corporate partner and do not wish to provide a Day of Caring sponsorship on a waiting list. If we are able to secure enough projects in order to pull from the waiting list, you will be contacted no later than August 30th, 2019. If you are not a corporate partner but wish to sponsor Day of Caring in order to participate, please contact Elise Stine-Dolinar. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause, it’s important that we provide the best possible experience for all involved.
All projects will take place at United Way NSV partner agencies and community partners throughout the Northern Shenandoah Valley area. Projects will begin at 9:00 a.m. after the Day of Caring Kick Off Party on September 12th and 13th and be completed by mid-afternoon. Projects will range from hosting activities for agency clients, cleaning, painting, landscaping, etc. Most project locations are able to provide supplies for the project, but some agencies have requested help with project supplies. All project locations will provide a lunch for the volunteers. Upon project assignment, the Team Contact will receive detailed information about working on your project and a project description, insuring a successful project. By planning and working closely with the hosting agency and by following the project description, you can ensure that your team will have a rewarding and meaningful experience and will learn how a t-shirt can change the Northern Shenandoah Valley.
Team Contacts will periodically recieve updates on who has registered on their team. Team Contacts will receive their list of volunteers with their tshirt sizes at project assignment, like in year's past (Date TBA).
