Recap of Day of Caring 2016

United Way NSV wants to thank our community for taking part in our largest Day of Caring ever, with 935 total volunteers and 103 projects! Because of all of the amazing volunteers that gave up their time, we were able to accomplish an amazing amount of work for local non-profits in Winchester City, Frederick, Clarke and Shenandoah Counties, valued at more than $172,040 given back to the community!

It all started at our Day of Caring Kickoff at Lord Fairfax Community College! Our volunteers were cheered on by Redskin Cheerleaders, and DJ Casey got the group moving!

Our awesome sponsors came out to show their community pride!

The Kickoff drew a huge crowd, with an estimated 500 people in attendance!

Volunteers then headed out to their projects for the day!

Tolley Dental went out to Fremont Street Nursery to give the 3 and 4 year olds dental exams.

Malloy Toyota packed family readiness baskets for new parents with Healthy Families of Northern Shenandoah Valley.

First Bank went out to Highland Food Pantry to clean and organize donations!

YHB worked in the gardens at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley.

Winchester Public Schools, Valley Health and several other teams worked in the north end on six Habitat for Humanity projects.

Thermo Fisher worked at the Shenandoah County Free Clinic.

F&M Bank worked at Sunshine House in Shenandoah County.

After a long day with 103 projects completed , folks came together to celebrate at our Day of Caring After Party!
